Acne

Acne is an inflammatory disease of sebaceous glands and hair follicles. Causes of the development of acne are diverse – hereditary dispositions, increased production of sebum, hormonal and bacterial influences. The hair follicle orifice gets blocked, a corneous layer and sebum accumulate, bacteria multiply and inflammatory symptoms gradually develop.

How does the treatment work?

Treatment in chosen according to the clinical form of acne. We can prescribe drugs, but for more profound symptoms of acne, a comprehensive treatment is recommended, which usually consists of the combination of antibiotics and retinoids. The use of retinoids is considered for more severe forms of acne, not responding to other treatment. In women, hormonal treatment, consisting in suitable oral contraception, has its place as well.

Dermatological preparations specifically developed for care for skin with acne symptoms should not be forgotten as well. At the dermatologist, the client will learn how to properly care for their skin and which dietary supplements to use.

In order to speed up the healing of acne, we recommend a combination with V Beam Perfecta laser treatment.

Another option is to use chemical peeling, the composition of which affects acne symptoms. In addition to removing surface cells and efficiently regenerating skin, this peeling also contains substances reducing the production of sebum and multiplication of bacteria. As a result, four or five applications alleviate symptoms and generally improve the skin.

To treat scars that can remain on skin after severe forms of acne, dermatology at GHC Clinic Prague uses the ACCENT radiofrequency device.
