Treatment of scars
Scars form after a deeper skin damage. They are caused by injuries or inflammations, such as acne or chickenpox. Skin firmness and elasticity are reduced in the scar.
At the GHC Clinic Prague, we use various methods to improve scars, depending on the scar type, age and location. It is impossible to completely remove a scar; however, in many cases we can make the scar very inconspicuous.
How does the treatment work?
In the healing phase and for red scars, we use one-time or repeated treatment with the V Beam Perfecta laser. This laser can optimise the healing of a tissue as early as during the removal of stitches. The resulting scar is smoother, less visible and much paler than without the treatment. It is also possible to undergo a biolaser or Bioptron lamp treatment cure in the physiotherapy department.
For mature scars, we also use other methods: for atrophic (sunken) scars particularly after acne, repeated treatment with the fractional radiofrequency device Accent Pixel microplasma has proven to be very successful. It is a minimally invasive treatment when controlled thermal disturbance of skin in points is achieved by moving or touching with the applicator (depending on the surface area). Subsequent healing leaves the skin considerably smoother and with much less visible scars.
The soothing and peeling of pointy flakes takes three to five days. The client can cover the skin with make-up as early as the morning after the treatment.
Scars can also be treated with carboxytherapy – injection application of carbon dioxide. This method is also used to improve adhesion after liposuction.
