Cardiology

Cardiology - heart diseases, in particular ischemic heart disease, still represent the main cause of illnesses and fatality in the adult population. This is characterised by reduced blood supply to the heart, usually due to coronary artery changes. Early diagnosis of atherosclerosis of coronary arteries enables preventive intervention before any serious damage. The aim is to stabilise the condition, prevent progression or possibly to achieve improvement up to normalisation of the particular problem by medicinal or interventional care.
As a part of cardiologic examination we offer a classic check-up by a cardiologist, ECG (electrocardiogram), monitoring ECG for 24 hours in the surgery or in the Clinic, 24 hour monitoring of blood pressure, heart ultrasound (echocardiogram) and cardiac stress test  on a stress test bicycle. The set of such techniques enables us to diagnose high blood pressure problems, cardiac arrhythmia, imbalances of  blood flow, degenerative changes of heart valves and related heart diseases. If needed, we arrange further examinations by special methods: stress scintigraphy (using tracers and a gamma camera), coronagraph check-up (X-ray using contrast substances in the blood vessels) and electrophysiological checks in one of the most renowned Prague cardiological clinics.
