Kinesiology is a science which studies the life organism from the mechanical and ideokinetic point of view (voluntary effort for a certain purpose, e.g. targeted manipulation).
This summarises rehabilitation examining methods to make a diagnosis in order to prepare a therapeutic plan. In the beginning of such examination the physiotherapist takes an anamnesis of the client, important facts come out of the anamnesis. Based on these further check-ups are undertaken. The physiotherapist uses his eyes and palpation (touch) for his examination; he also assesses active and passive movements of joints, movements against resistance and joint volition, examining the condition of soft tissues, muscular disbalances and movement stereotypes.
The physiotherapist examines the whole body posture, configuration using palpation and the level of muscular activity of individual body parts as well as of the whole body. Based on this examination he chooses from the following techniques: checks of shortened and weak muscles, the extent of movement, movement syndromes, functional movement stereotypes, hypermobility and hypomobility etc.
Based on the kynesiological analysis it is possible to design a suitable treatment which will help to recover movement functions into their original condition or avoid the development of such dysfunction by preventive targeted therapy.
