Nephrology deals with the diagnostics and treatment of kidney diseases.

Most common kidney diseases include the renal capsule or renal pelvis inflammations, kidney stones and tumour diseases. A disease may manifest by pain and pressure in the lower back, elevated temperature with chill and shivers, changes in urine colour and smell, etc.

Most common tests indicated for kidney problems include ultrasound and computed tomography, chemical examination of urine and urine sediment and tests determining the concentration of various substances in blood and urine.
