Plastic surgery of the forehead is the procedure where the skin is smoothed and the brows are lifted by removing excess tissue, reshaping the muscles and smoothing the skin. Before the surgery, your hair will be tightened with rubber bands above the planned incision or your hair will be combed into a parting at the place of incision. The incision is typically curved behind the hairline so the scar is concealed by hair. The incision can be in the hair across the top of the head towards the ears or at the hairline and the scar is then visible if the hair is combed upwards. If your hairline is high or receding it is necessary to avoid making the forehead higher. The receding hairline is the determining factor ? whether an incision at the hairline is used or if an endoscopic method (using a light conducting tube) is preferable. People with hereditary factors such as low or high forehead or wrinkles above the nose will achieve a fresh, more awake look. The surgery can be combined with a facelift.
