Young women have the nipple above the breast crease but it is simply a part of the aging process that the breasts sag in front or below the crease - breast ptosis. Breast uplifting is usually not undertaken before the age of eighteen, significant health problems are the only exception. Before reshaping the breast the consulting doctor determines the placement so the breasts are positioned according to the patients skeletal proportions, chest shape and breast size. Nipples must be placed on the breasts accordingly. Replacing nipples is not made by cutting and sewing on the uplifted breasts. The nipples are only shifted together with the mammary gland. Then the gland is secured to the muscle in the position at the right height to prevent early or excessive sagging of the breasts at the post-operative stage. Absorbing or non-absorbing material is used. The skin is stitched and drainage is applied. The cuts are dressed with gauze and the breasts with elastic bandages.
