Lip plastic surgery

Perhaps Mother Nature was a bit stingy with you and endowed you with too narrow and indistinct lips. Lips' size, width and fullness significantly influence attractiveness of a woman's face. In addition, ageing, slackening and shrinking of lips occur after 40 years of age even in women who had before been satisfied with their lips.

If you wish to have full and seductive lips, lip surgery is here for you.

How does the lip plastic surgery work?

The extension of narrow lips is achieved by implanting your own tissue (usually your own fat), implanting an artificial material (e.g. collagen, hyaluronic acid) or by a surgical intervention, using the lips' own tissue.

The operation has a permanent effect, while an injection application of fat or hyaluronic acid has a temporary effect, lasting on average for about six months.

An advantage of using your own tissue is that your body easily accepts it. A disadvantage of this procedure is another scar on the place of tissue extraction.

A novelty in the lip extension is lip augmentation using the PermaLip silicone implant, which is basically the same method generally known from breast enlargement.

This surgical procedure is performed under local anaesthesia. First, the surgeon makes a small incision in both mouth corners, and then inserts a silicone implant designed specifically for the lip volume extension in the lip through a special "tunnelator".

Compared to currently used methods, this new method has three fundamental advantages:

  • implant shape permanency – the implant is shaped as needed for your lips, and it does not change in any way after inserting
  • durability – the silicone implant has significantly longer durability than injection methods – it is implanted permanently
  • reversibility – if you wish to return your lips their original shape, the implant can be removed anytime

What happens after the operation?

After surgical lip extension, stitches remain on the inside. Swelling and bruises may last for a week. Ice should be applied on the lip, and soft food diet is recommended for three days. After meals, mouth has to be rinsed out with camomile solution or water. Return to normal activity is possible after 10 – 14 days; swelling completely subsides in up to several weeks; stitches get removed after 10 – 12 days.
