Since June 1, people insured with the METAL-ALIANCE Health Insurance Company can participate in two preventive programmes. „THROUGH EARLY PREVENTION TO HEALTHIER BONES FOR WOMEN" is the first one, designed for women and including biochemical, genetic and densitometric tests to find out possible risks of the development of osteoporosis.
„THROUGH EARLY PREVENTION AGAINST PROSTATE CANCER" is the title of the other project, which consists in biochemical, genetic and ultrasound tests to find out possible risks of the development of prostate cancer.
THROUGH EARLY PREVENTION TO HEALTHIER BONES FOR WOMEN
Since June 1, 2010, you have a unique opportunity to do something extra for you and your body.
You can participate in a preventive care programme for women called „Through Early Prevention to Healthier Bones for Women”, which is carried out by our facility GHC GENETICS, s.r.o. in cooperation with the METAL-ALIANCE Health Insurance Company.
Osteoporosis is a metabolic bone disease manifested by bone rarefaction. Its symptoms include back aches, bone fragility, decreasing of body height, reduced mobility and formation of a hump (kyphosis). Its development is influenced by genetic dispositions and external factors, particularly lifestyle (unsuitable diet, coffee consumption), long-term consumption of some drugs and lack of exercise. This project aims at finding women who are at a higher risk of developing osteoporosis and recommending them targeted prevention and, if needed, treatment.
This examination is recommended for women aged 35 - 55 years and/or women with unfavourable personal or family anamnesis (overall health shape of the client, diseases and operations suffered, lifestyle and external influences, occurrence of risk factors and diseases in the family).
The project will be carried out in two stages:
In the first stage, the following will be filled out for all registered clients:
an initial questionnaire with a detailed anamnesis focused on risk factors associated with osteoporosis
Based on the initial questionnaire, risk clients will be selected for the second stage of the project, which includes:
initial medical consultation, biochemical blood and urine tests, molecular genetic testing (DNA test), densitometric test of bone density, final medical consultation, including the provision of a report, explanation of results and recommendations
The tests will be performed by specialists at GHC Clinic Prague and GHC GENETICS, s.r.o.
Based on the results of all tests and their correlation with anamnesis data, each client will be recommended a targeted personalized prevention – suitable adjustment of her lifestyle, preventive care and medical measures. For this reason, it can be expected that the onset of osteoporosis in risk women will be deferred and development of osteoporosis prevented in the future.
The most important asset of the project is the benefit of test results for each client. We are sure that pointing out possible risks of osteoporosis, together with a detailed and descriptive interpretation, will help every women avoid crucial risk factors contributing to the development of this disease and increase her active participation in care for her health.
This financially demanding project is fully funded from GHC GENETICS resources designated for scientific purposes and from the resources of METAL-ALIANCE Health Insurance Company.
Every client will get a unique opportunity to undergo comprehensive testing absolutely for free!
Up to 200 women will be tested within this project. Since June 1, 2010, those interested can register on-line at www.ghcgenetics.cz or contact the company GHC GENETICS, s.r.o. by e-mail at info@ghcgenetics.cz, or by phone at: 234 280 280.
THROUGH EARLY PREVENTION AGAINST PROSTATE CANCER
Since June 1, 2010, you have a unique opportunity to do something extra for you and your body.
You can participate in a preventive care programme for men called „Through Early Prevention against Prostate Cancer”, which is carried out by our facility GHC GENETICS, s.r.o. in cooperation with the METAL-ALIANCE Health Insurance Company.
Prostate cancer is a malign tumour disease of the prostate. Its symptoms are similar to those of enlarged prostate (hypertrophy). There might also be blood in urine (hematuria) or in ejaculate (hemospermia). A great percentage of patients are successfully treated if the disease is diagnosed early. Factors contributing to the tumour development include genetic dispositions and external factors – particularly lifestyle (smoking, diet), inflammatory diseases of the urinary system and quality of the environment. This project aims at finding men who are at a higher risk of developing prostate cancer and recommending them targeted prevention and, if needed, treatment.
This examination is recommended for men aged 35 - 55 years and/or men with unfavourable personal or family anamnesis (overall health shape of the client, diseases and operations suffered, lifestyle and external influences, occurrence of risk factors and diseases in the family).
The project will be carried out in two stages:
In the first stage, the following will be filled out for all registered clients:
an initial questionnaire with a detailed anamnesis focused on risk factors associated with prostate cancer
Based on the initial questionnaire, risk clients will be selected for the second stage of the project, which includes:
initial medical consultation including prostate rectal examination, biochemical blood and urine tests, molecular genetic testing (DNA test), prostate sonography, final medical consultation, including the provision of a report, explanation of results and recommendations
The tests will be performed by specialists at GHC Clinic Prague and GHC GENETICS, s.r.o.
Based on the results of all tests and their correlation with anamnesis data, each client will be recommended a targeted personalized prevention – suitable adjustment of his lifestyle, preventive care and medical measures. For this reason, it can be expected that the onset of prostate cancer in risk men will be deferred and development of prostate cancer prevented in the future.
The most important asset of the project is the benefit of test results for each client. We are sure that pointing out possible risks of prostate cancer development, together with a detailed and descriptive interpretation will help every man avoid crucial risk factors contributing to the development of this disease and increase his active participation in care for his health.
