What are Silhouette Soft lifting threads

Silhouette Soft lifting is a minimally invasive method of light lifting of saggy skin of the face, the neck and certain areas of the body. It uses a bioabsorbable material that is completely absorbed within 360 days. The threads are fitted with cones and knots which reliably fix them in the tissue and provide them with the required support. The additional rejuvenating effect is caused by lactic acid which activates the natural revitalisation of the skin. The advantages of this method include an instantly visible result after minimal surgery and the possibility of combining this method with other methods of aesthetic medicine (botulinum toxin, hyaluronic acid fillers, chemical peel, PRP – Platelet-Rich Plasma). The procedure has two kinds of effect – a lifting effect and a collagen-regenerating effect.

Who is a good candidate for the application

lndications to this surgery include signs of gravitational ptosis of the face, such as sagging cheeks, a nasolabial fold, droopy eyebrows and mouth corners. The ideal age for this method is 35 to 55 years.

If you consider the application of Silhouette Soft, it is always necessary to undergo an initial consultation with a physician, unless you are a regular client of the GHC Dermatology Department. The dermatologist will examine you, evaluate the indication for the filler application and the skin condition, hear your expectations, recommend the most suitable course of action and suggest treatment alternatives, if available.

How is the Silhouette Soft application performed

The procedure is performed under local anaesthesia only and it takes place in a dermatology surgery office. By means of a thin double-sided needle, very thin suspensory threads are inserted in the sagging skin through fine punctures which immediately recontour the face. The fibres are absorbed within a few months, thereby also forming a new collagen network that progressively helps restoring the natural and desired shape of the face.

After application

After the application of Silhouette Soft lifting threads, rest is recommended. The swelling and the traces at the insertion sites disappear within 1 or 2 weeks. During 2 – 3 weeks, it is recommended to avoid active facial expression, massage therapy, active exercising in a fitness club and going to saunas and public swimming pools. The physician may recommend you to take systemic antimicrobial drugs or topical preparations to speed up the healing process. When exposed to the sun, it is necessary to use a sunscreen with a protective factor (SpF 50+). New collagen production takes place for 2.5 – 3 years, the lifting effect lasts approximately 3.5 years.
